Bad Liebenstein has one of Germany’s most famous springs of health. It is a sodium-calcium-chloride-bicarbonate water. It was first documented in 1590, as early as 1601, a “mysterious” effect was attested to the water.
Today, the medicinal water comes from 165 meters deep. The carbonic acid mineral baths are used in balneotherapy mainly for the treatment of heart diseases and hypertension.
As a drinking cure, the water is also suitable for calcium and iron deficiency.
